A man from the tribe of Judah living at the time of Exile and Return, first mentioned at Mat.1.16) referred to as Joseph or "father" or "parents" (Ἰωσήφ); son of Jacob; a brother of: Alphaeus (?); husband of Mary; father of Jesus, James, Joses, Simon and Jude.
